I have lived in a Brevard for over 12 years and just discovered this place 3 years ago and am now a regular ;-) I love everything about it here... The service, the music, the ambiance, and most important the food!!! I have tried various items on menu but always seem to go back for the general tso chicken!!! With the wonton soup... So delicious!!! My boyfriend and I always share the dinner portion as it is plenty!!! Yummmm ;-) definitely my happy place!

I come here from time to time simply because this is the only place around which offers sizzling rice soup. The rest if the food is good compared to other local Chinese restaurants. The staff is friendly ahd very helpful. The location itself is nice, could use a little updating.

Best soups around. I'm especially impressed with the egg drop soup. The crab Rangoon are perfectly fried. I don't live in town, but come out of my way at least once per year to enjoy this Chinese restaurant.

I had several visits here way back in the day, as I lived right behind it for quite some time, but it seemed like it was before the Number One and some of the other nearby Chinese outlets opened up. Although pretty decent, it was always really pricey. Okay if you're used to more of a sit-down, full service Chinese restaurant vs. a smaller take out shop.

Service was very accommodating, but the food was unmemorable. Portions were generous, but prices are way higher than they should be. They will give you chili oil if you ask, which makes the food slightly less bland. The wait staff speak both Spanish and English as well as Chinese.

Yes, I've had better. If you are old enough, and want some retro chinese restaurant experience then come here. When I first walked in, it brought me back to my youth, the place had the look and feel of the chinese restaurants of old (circa 1970s) that dotted the small town great american landscape all the way down to the red wall-to-wall carpet and the old metal tea pot with chinese tea to pour into your small, decorated chinese tea cups. The food was sub par. I've either had better food at local takeout chinese restaurants, or I had gotten so used to the takeout uniformity that my expectations were at a different level. I have, however, had lots of good chinese food from other restaurants (not takeouts) in the area between Indian Harbour Beach and Orlando, So I believe that the first choice is the correct answer. Overall, if you want to sit and wax nostalgic about your youth with a stiff drink in your hand, you can try this place. if you are in the mood for good chinese food...go somewhere else.

Did a lunch takeout order... Not very good. Low on flavor. The staff was friendly and prompt, but the beef with vegeatables didnt have much taste, the curry chicken sauce seemed watered down, even the rice didnt taste fresh. I won't return.

I agree with Austin's review. The one star people need to try this again! I first tried it on the recommendation of a regular a couple of years ago and now I go to dinner there at least twice a month. The food is always excellent and plentiful. We always share a dish because there is so much. The hot and sour soup is delicious!! I feel comfortable with the decor and I hope they never update it!

So weird to read the bad reviews about this place. They must be doing something right to have been in business these past 29 years. The interior is a bit dated, probably hasn't been updated since they opened in 1984, but it is clean. I've only eaten here for lunch, and there are always 5-8 people here as well. The staff is efficient, and they are very friendly if you engage them. I enjoy the fact that they are no-nonsense and realize that I have a time limit for lunch. While some of the dishes can taste very similar, they have no trouble substituting items if so desired, or making things extra hot and spicy. I enjoy the fact they have a full bar, even though I've not had a drink there. Back in the 50's and 60's every Chinese restaurant had a full bar, now it's only these guys and Red Ginger.

Our favorite place! We drive from Viera / Rockledge for dinner. The Salt & Pepper Shrimp is amazing!!! We also had crispy fish, house egg Foo young, and fried rice. We love the service and the food.

Like the other person said....no flavor. The egg roll was the best thing and it wasn't even that good. No hot and sour soup either. :-(. The waiter had absolutely no personality and wasn't very friendly. When I asked for the soup it was a quick headshake and "no"....nothing else.

My wife and I went to this place a while back. It is very close to the house. Let me say that the food my wife was served was so salty that it was barely edible. When we complained the waiter just shook his head as if he knew no English. My food was also a bit salty but tasted fine. My friends have been telling me the food is very good here and I want to believe them. I will go back again because i think they deserve a second chance but I don't think my wife will ever return.

There is food... plenty of it... but it is tasteless. Could have ordered any of their 50 plus dishes and they would all taste the same... without salt and flavor. One day when I turn 80, after my colectomy and can no longer eat any food with spice, favoring, I may return to Jade Palace.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
